In the interest of operational efficiency, the Leducq organization has relocated its center of program administration from Paris to Boston. The U.S.-based Leducq Foundation for Cardiovascular Research, which formerly operated alongside the French Fondation Leducq, will now directly oversee the Leducq grant programs in cardiovascular disease and stroke. The Leducq mission, international orientation, and focus on research remain unchanged, consistent with the intent of the founders, Jean and Sylviane Leducq. LFCR will continue to promote internationally collaborative research in cardiovascular disease and stroke through the signature Leducq program, the Transatlantic Networks of Excellence. Participating institutions in current Leducq networks will be contacted about the transition from Fondation Leducq to LFCR support, which should not lead to interruptions in funding.
