Career Development Award

The Fondation Leducq Transatlantic Career Development Award in Cardiovascular Research (CDA) supports outstanding individual investigators in cardiovascular or neurovascular disease, whose work would substantially benefit from international collaboration. Originally established in 2007 as a way to provide support for young investigators to perform research abroad within a Leducq Transatlantic Network of Excellence, the CDA is no longer limited to applicants from Leducq network programs, and is open generally to cardiovascular or neurovascular researchers on both sides of the Atlantic.  In recognition of the value of an international research experience for investigators at all career stages, the foundation has opened the CDA to both junior and senior investigators.  Transatlantic exchange and flexibility of research design should allow those who obtain a CDA to achieve results that would be difficult outside of an internationally collaborative context, thereby supporting the foundation’s cardiovascular research mission.
